Following a 16-year hiatus for the Doctor Who TV series, our favourite Time Lord made his triumphant return in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor.
Despite only starring for one season, Eccleston made a massive impression on viewers thanks to his unique portrayal – which was more grounded to appeal to modern audiences.
Across his appearance on screen, the Ninth Doctor would travel in the TARDIS alongside various companions, including Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman).
